Hi! To start off, please tell us your name, where you’re from, and what you write.
Hi. My name is Mickie Sherwood. I’m a romance author from Bayou Country in Louisiana.
How did you become an author? Please share a bit of your journey with us.
My journey started after reading many romance novels and finding they all read the same. Plus, the characters rarely reflected people who passed through my world.
What are you working on now? Do you have a recent or upcoming release?
Currently, I have a slew of WIPs. The problem is: after a couple of back-to-back losses, my magical, creative juices are at a drizzle, right now. But, don’t count me out.
I'm so sorry to hear that. :-( Hang in there and allow yourself time to re-fill the creative reservoir!
Who is a person you greatly admire and why?
I don’t hesitate to say I greatly admire the man to whom I’ve been married for forty-something years. Don’t get me wrong. He has his flaws. But, who doesn’t? This man is an overcomer who always finds a way to show me how to glean a positive from any negative situation.
Please tell us your favorite holiday and why.
Christmas is one of my favorite holidays. Around here, it’s customary to ride and look at the decorations. Unique and unusual is definitely a way to describe some I’ve seen.
City, suburb, or small-town? Small-town.
Dark chocolate, light chocolate, or white chocolate? Dark chocolate.
Wine, whiskey or punch? Beer.
Hot dogs, hamburgers, or tacos? Hamburgers.
Boxers, briefs, or commando? Briefs.
Cowboy boots, biker boots, or flip-flops? Cowboy boots.
Cake, cookies, or crumpets? Cake.
Biceps, abs, or buns? All.
Cats, dogs, or exotics? Dogs.
Any last words before we say goodbye?
Hmm. Yes. A few.
I think my next WIP will be a small-town romance about a dog-loving heroine whose skin is as smooth as dark chocolate. After a hard day at the office, she prepares for her quiet, sunset supper. When she returns to the table set up on her back porch, her hamburger’s missing a bite. The beer mug’s half empty. To top that off—a chiseled abs, briefs, and cowboy boots-wearing stranger is relaxed in her hammock. The nerve! Who is he? What does he want? Where did he come from? But, heck. Most of all, why is he holding her cake, and eating it, too?
Readers, I hope you’ll find my romance novels interesting and enjoyable. Please leave a review, if you do.
Thanks, Love Romance Reads, for this opportunity to share.
