Hi! To start off, please tell us your name, where you’re from, and what you write.
My name is Crystal-Rain Love. Really, it is. J I’m from Kentucky and I write contemporary romance, paranormal romance, and romantic suspense. As Raymond Lee I write a zombie apocalypse series.
How did you become an author? Please share a bit of your journey with us.
I’ve been reading since before Kindergarten and I started writing my own stories somewhere around the age of 9. Being an author is something I always wanted to be. I officially became a published author after winning a publishing contract in a writing contest from Sapphire Blue Publishing back in 2008. Right after that I signed a contract with Imajinn Books for a paranormal romance series and sold some cowboy romances to The Wild Rose Press. I’ve been self-publishing since around 2012. I like the control and freedom.
What are you working on now? Do you have a recent or upcoming release?
I just released a slightly dark paranormal rom-com called LIFE SUCKS AFTER YOU DIE and am currently having a ball writing the sequel, VAMPIRE GIRL PROBLEMS.
Please tell us your favorite holiday and why.
Christmas. I love the joy of the season and the spirit of giving. One of my favorite Christmases was the first year I had a job and boy did I spoil my whole family. J
Please share one piece of advice to aspiring authors - what do you wish someone would have told you? Or, what did someone tell you that you’d like to pass on to others?
No matter what you write, someone isn’t going to like it. However, if you write to please others, YOU won’t like it. Write what you love, what is true to you. That will be your best work. You can’t please every single person and trying to will only take away from the joy of doing what you love. Find an author you LOVE, whose work you consider the best. Check that author’s reviews. There will be bad ones. It’s just a part of the experience.
