Hi! To start off, please tell us your name, where you’re from, and what you write.
Readers can find my adult fiction under the name Addison Brae. I also write contemporary young adult fiction and hope to publish soon. My home is Dallas, Texas, right on the edge of downtown.
How did you become an author? Please share a bit of your journey with us.
I started writing professionally in college for commercial audiences, but writing fiction is another story. I started my first manuscript in 2009 but didn’t tell a soul until I had 30,000 words written. When I reached that point, I knew I could finish a novel.
What are you working on now? Do you have a recent or upcoming release?
“Becker Circle” just released on March 14, 2018. It’s an romantic suspense empowering story of mistakes, redemption and fresh starts. This incredible book trailer video brings Gillian’s world in “Becker Circle” to life. Watch it on YouTube.
So what’s your favorite holiday?
Christmas is my favorite holiday. I’ve collected tree ornaments since I was little, so each one brings back a memory as they go on the tree. My birthday is also right after Christmas, so we pile on all the celebrations into one week!
Please share one piece of advice to aspiring authors - what do you wish someone would have told you? Or, what did someone tell you that you’d like to pass on to others?
If you have a story—write it! It’s the toughest battle and biggest accomplishment. Also, don’t write in solitude. Join a writing organization to help hone your craft and learn about the business, and participate in a critique group to fine tune your manuscript.
Speed round! Say the first thing that comes to mind!
City, suburb, or small-town? The Dallas skyline at sunset from our rooftop deck always inspires me.
Wine, whiskey or punch? There’s no better way to wrap up a day than sipping red wine with friends or my amazing other half.
Cats, dogs, or exotics? I’ve never met a cat more neurotic than our Lucy!
Any last words before we say goodbye?
Yes—cheers to LovRR on the grand opening bash! And for readers, I challenge you to pick a time during your day to read something you enjoy.
