Every kid had one. Every kid coveted it once a year on that blustery autumn night. Feet aching, the scent of plastic heavy in their nostrils, sweat pouring down their face under that God awful plastic mask. Always searching for the holy grail.
The one candy you would not trade ANYONE.
I remember the hunts when I was little. Halloween night meant one thing to me and one thing only. Trick or Treating! My dad was a really good sport, walking with me until the clock struck nine as I scavenged for all the Reeses Peanut Butter Cups my pillowcase could handle. I also had a weak spot for Baby Ruths and the rarely seen but always welcomed Whatchamacallits.
I also had and STILL HAVE an addiction to Smarties.
I need to seek help for this.
In turn, I also got a plethora of candy that made me want to gag.
My biggest Halloween bane was Now and Laters. I'm sure I'll get flack about that but I still cannot stand those plastic tasting filling rippers! And for some reason, I always ended up with a ton of them. They still haunt me to this day. I find little Now and Laters everywhere. I believe they are trying to end the world and only I know their secret...so they're coming for me first.
Also, Necowafers. Who thought that miniature disks of chalk would make a good candy?...because they don't....at all.
And don't get me started on the neighbor down the street who would just give out floss.
So what candy did you seek out on Trick or Treat night? And what was the candy did you absolutely hate to get?
