I'm super excited to have Laney here with us today! She's the first author we've had who has answered questions in a video. Woohoo! Thank you, Laney. XOXOXO
What/who do you like to read and do you have a favorite genre/author?
I don't have a favorite genre, as I'm a horribly greedy reader and will read literally anything...you saw the video of my library, right?. My current favorite, though, is probably Sandie Docker's Women's Fiction- her descriptive work of iconically Australian scenery is amazing (what, envious? Me? Of course not... Maybe.)
Who is a person you greatly admire and why?
This is going to sound a little Mumsy, and you have to swear not to ever tell him, 'kay? But, my 28-year-old (does some finger-counting to make sure I have that right) son. He refuses to be constrained by societal expectations, and works hard just long enough to stash a small amount of cash, then he's off exploring the world. It's not only his free-spirit I admire, but the fact that he never takes a handout, government or otherwise. Instead, he works to fund his reality...instead of being content to dream his dreams.
Dark chocolate, light chocolate, or white chocolate?
I like to pretend dark chocolate is good for me....
Wine, whiskey or punch?
I like to pretend wine is good for me—oh, wait, I see a pattern here...
Boxers, briefs, or commando?
Boxers. I like the allure of the unseen. It's like unwrapping a present. Or, y'know, like unwrapping purchases from the butcher's shop.
Cowboy boots, biker boots, or flip-flops?
Cowboy boots. I've never had a pair but have desperately wanted them for more years than I care to admit. Of course, I also want the cute little flippy dress - and the figure to pull off the look!
Cake, cookies, or crumpets?
Crumpets, because I remember how they *used* to taste. I'm not imagining this, am I? They used to toast far better than they do now, and have a saltier taste. Of course, if you tell me they're still amazing in the US, I'M ON MY WAY!!
Any last words before we say goodbye?
Thanks so much, Carissa for the opportunities you extend to writers. And readers, please review, or at least rate! Other than sales figures, your feedback is often the reason we continue to write in a particular genre!
Science Fiction ~ Erotic Romance ~ Fantasy ~ Paranormal ~ Military ~ Shifters
I'm on a dangerous mission with a
sexy alien jaguar shifter warrior.
The last thing I need is temptation.
But his searing kiss unleashes
my hidden desire.
Jag: Like the rest of my band-of-brothers, my guns, fangs, and claws are for hire-but I have a reputation for caution. Pragmatism. Methodology. The Cap, Herc, relies on me for my prudence. But now, with the world collapsing around us and danger pressing in on every side, I'm crazy in lust with Aren, the leader of the Refugees. For the first time, caution seems over-rated.
I don't know what the Hells is going on. Jaguarkin don't bond. We mate. Rut to produce offspring. Then move on. So why does this feel like more than that? I can't afford to allow a distraction in the form of one little human. One mysterious, desirable woman with the ability to rock my world. And, if I don't handle it right, rock all the worlds.
Aren: My life has been dedicated to one mission: to kill my father. After that, I'll die, either in a Regime prison, or from my own pair-blade-fulfilling a promise to follow my dead husband, Tracin, to his grave. When Herc & Maya and the crew need someone to infiltrate the Regime army and steal a communicator they need to contact the Aaidarian government, I see my chance. Jag will go with me, pretending to be Tracin. Which means he'll need surgical alterations, and he won't be able to shift or his disguise will be revealed.
And I'll have to have sex with him to ignite the blades. Shouldn't be too bad, right? A quick round in bed in exchange for a chance to finally see this through. Except, one touch from Jag sets my skin on fire. And I'm falling for him fast. How will I satisfy my Dragarian pair-blade's thirst for my blood if I'm bondmated with Jag?
Book 4 of a 4-book series. Our alien shifter sci-fi romance series guarantees alpha males, fierce women, steamy, on-the-page romance, and a satisfying happily-ever-after. Each book features new characters, but a larger story weaves through all 4 books. They can be read individually but are best when read in order.
